Why is GuitarBeats free?

Because getting started should never stand in the way of enjoying music.

GuitarBeats grew out of a simple belief: everyone should have the chance to discover the joy of making music, whether they already read music or are just beginning to find their feet.

For the developer, making this tool freely available matters. It is a way to help people discover their enthusiasm for the guitar and give it room to grow.

Whether you are a beginner, still learning, practising regularly, or an experienced guitarist, GuitarBeats is meant to be a companion for learning through play, practising, improvising, and developing musical ideas of your own.

The starting point is not studying the many symbols of complex musical notation. It is the experience itself: Pluck a string, hear a note, discover connections, and make music yourself.

A companion to notation, not a replacement

Traditional notation and scores are valuable parts of music. They have an important place, and GuitarBeats does not question or replace them.

GuitarBeats simply takes a different approach. It is an additional tool for people who want to experience music first by listening, looking, trying things out, and playing.

If you want to learn to read music later, that is something to embrace. But nobody should feel they have to master a complex musical language before they can enjoy their instrument.

Playing should be fun!

Music thrives on curiosity, experimentation, and enthusiasm, from those first hesitant notes to the moment a spontaneous idea becomes something of your own.

That is what GuitarBeats aims to make room for.

Sometimes making music is like building a sandcastle: you try something, change it, start again, and enjoy seeing what takes shape.

And when playing stops being fun, the sandcastle comes down.

GuitarBeats is here to help you want to keep building.

Free. For the love of music.
